American Airlines Selects Icelink as Its Enterprise Aircraft Deicing Operating System
American Airlines has selected Icelink, the enterprise aircraft deicing operating system from JCAII, a TKH Airport Solutions company, to digitally manage deicing operations across more than 80 stations in its network.
The decision supports American’s strategic initiative to automate, standardize, and optimize its aircraft deicing program through advanced digital technology.
“In today’s operational environment, we must leverage robust, advanced technology to support our aircraft deicing program,” said Craig Cox, Deicing Program Manager at American Airlines. “Icelink provides a standardized operating system that optimizes resources, enhances safety, and ensures regulatory compliance through enterprise-level digital tools.”
Icelink is an advanced operating system platform designed to deliver turnkey, digitalized control systems for airlines, airports, and deicing service providers. The platform enables operators to coordinate and manage all aspects of aircraft deicing operations, including process control, traffic management, and real-time operational oversight across all winter stations.
Through seamless integration of operational data into a single digital platform, Icelink enables real-time coordination, performance monitoring, and continuous operational improvement. Operators can identify trends, detect deficiencies, and make informed decisions as conditions evolve.
“JCAII and TKH Airport Solutions value the trust American Airlines has placed in us to support and manage the digital transformation of its aircraft deicing operations,” said Erik Velderman, CEO of TKH Airport Solutions.
With Icelink, management teams gain simultaneous visibility into operations at any station across the network, allowing for proactive resource planning and immediate, safe, and effective operational adjustments as required.
The Icelink platform is A-CDM-ready and integrates with Airport Operational Databases (AODB) and surface management systems, helping harmonize aircraft deicing activities with host airport winter operations. This integration provides up-to-date performance status information and contributes to improved overall completion rates and operational efficiency.
